Waiting

I've intended to get a blog going for nearly a year now, but today I finally created a post:

If you've been following my newsletters or getting my prayer updates you know that I'm in waiting. I want to be in Papua New Guinea teaching the 3rd graders there.

Instead, for whatever reason, I'm here, in the Untied States, waiting. I'm confident this is what God has called me to do and I can't wait to begin. Instead, I am waiting. Of course I'm sharing the vision of Bible Translation and the education of Missionary Kids while I wait, but overall, I'm waiting.

How is this done? I'm no expert, but I've been learning that waiting involves remaining faithful, living one day at a time, and trusting God- His sovereignty-his perfect time and plan. When I listen to His word, (that's right I'm an audio Bible reader) I keep ending up in 1 Samuel listening to David's story. He was anointed king for a long long time before He was king, and He was faithful not only to God but to Saul, his king. David was active, but he did have to wait.

So, for right now I pray and ask God to help me remain faithful and enjoy this wait. After all if I wait on Him my strength will be renewed (Isa 40:31). Do you need to wait on the Lord today?
